Well, it’s that time of the year again. That time when trees get decked out in lights, stockings get hung, presents are wrapped, and Lady Liberty trades her copper gown and spiky crown for a Santa robe and hat. ;)

I’m loving the festive atmosphere here in Taipei, though word is that the people don’t actually celebrate it (they don’t even get the day off of work). They just like to decorate for it. So I’m not expecting any special celebrations for the holiday this year, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t create some of my own holiday cheer!

I hope you enjoy this little sketch of famous landmarks all dressed up for Christmas. Happy holidays to my friends from all over the globe… have a very merry one, eat a lot of pie for me, and I’ll see you next year!

  5. Wow I love the mixed media – super impressive. (Like I bet you could do some graphic design stuff online.) I just got home from South America! I didn’t think I was tough enough to spend Christmas solo abroad so from the outset I had a flight booked home from Lima. It’s weird to be back, but I’m ready for some family/drinking/eating time! Can’t believe they don’t have the day off for Christmas there! I worked Christmas Eve the past two years so I am pumped to spend a few unemployed weeks lounging around and catching up with folks through the holidays!

    • I know what you mean! I always had to work on Christmas Eve too. I can so relate to it being weird to be back home after a few months abroad, but I’m sure you’ll have a great time with family!!

  6. So cute! I love the little panda snowman in the corner! What will you be doing for Christmas then? I would get so disappointed that no one’s celebrating lol I’m spending it with my family in New York, doing Secret Santa and hopefully munching on Christmas treats!

    • I think we’re gonna go get hotpot on Christmas since it’s always been a family tradition to eat hotpot at home! Eat a ton of treats for me and have a great time with family! x

  9. Lovely sketch! Enjoy your holiday in Taipei! I’ll be celebrating in Lima, Peru with my in-laws! Word here is that we will be up until midnight eating turkey, drinking hot chocolate, and setting off fireworks?! Should be interesting… :)

  10. You should celebrate. Well, people from this side of the world don’t celebrate like how Americans do (at home), but we do go out for a nice dinner in a hotel or something. You should celebrate like the locals do! :D
